I write poems on topics that move me in Hindi and in English. You may also find a few sketches which I try to sometimes draw for fun's sake (I am no good).

Spoils of War
We've been the spoils of war for both the victor and the vanquished
A trophy that was discarded once a purpose was fulfilled
We've been the spoils of war in the old days and the new
A medium for vengeance - exploited and lived only a few.
Should have witnessed the men as they marched into our lands
Sparing none of us - we were cattle in the slaughter stands
Should have witnessed them men transform into beasts
Marching on forward gloating over their feats
Did Jinnah pause for a second to ponder over the loss
Did Nehru fear for his brethren and the impending loss
War Medals we were, with no place to call home
Then came the government to call us back home
Caged like a bird, with wings clipped off
With litter of our own - here the buck stopped
Where were they when Bauji was beheaded
Where were they when I was dragged naked?
Where were you all, you leaders of our nation?
Where were you all, when your daughters were getting beaten?
The ones who went back were snubbed by their own
Those left behind had no where else to go.
We are the spoils of war and we will be the death of you all.

1857 & 1947 - A tale
Waqt ka mizaj kuch is tarah tha badla
Lahu ka libaaz sabhi ne tha ooda
Haath main talwar aur sar pe kafan
Chal pade kyun karne sitam
Marching onwards they reached the fort
The symbol of sovereignty and of strength
Calling one and calling all, rise against the kafirs
Our king Zafar has bestowed upon us his blessings
Gado main kuon main
Mandiro main masjido main
Khoon se tha sab ko rang diya
Nadiyo ko talabo ko, lahu aur laasho se bhar diya
Helpless and against the tide
The Emperor of India fights
A turmoil within and a reluctant war on the outside
Oh Zafar, stuck between your subjects and your wily allies
Na baccho ko na aurato ko
Loota sabhi ke gharo ko
Gair ho gaye apne hi jahan main
Apna hi makaan main mehfoos na the
Indiscipline and insubordination was they way of life
The haphazardly arranged army had began to strife
Kiiling had began of the the sabhis and their wives.
Bhakt Khan then emerged trying to fight the tide.
Rail gaadi ke dibbe us paar ke aur iss paar ke
Apne ghar se ujde parivaaro se the bhare
Na unho ne socha na inhone, insaniyat ka
Sandesha laayi rail logo ki khabar ban kar
Enemy marching through the walls, the King has fallen
The minister of the king has betrayed his brethren
Plundering and looting was the order of the day
Women became their throphy and men they slay
Bahu betiyon ko saath le gaye utha ke apne
Sard paar yeh ab kisi ke na rahe
Jab jabran inki ghar waapsi hui
Phir sarad paar yeh apno ke beech paraye ho gaye.
Worst off were the women after the killings
Raped and tortured they were devoid of their feelings
Wandering the streets living a mendicants life
They familes refused to take them in for they were now defiled.
Galib too lamented at the state of royalty
Who've always suffered at the hands of victors in war
Sadiyan beet gayi par ab bhi wohi reet hain
Badlav ke naam pe ab bajti nafrat ki been hain.

Neta ki Neeti
Siyasat ki neeti kuch aisi hain
Baap bete ka nahi, bhai bhai ka nahi
Ghadbandhan bante aur toot te kaagaz pe sirf
Saath mil ke likhi jaati hain khaani parde ke peeche
Neta logo ke liye ya log netaao ke liye?
Apne liye hain sabhi Neeti toh bas kagaz ke liye
Janta ka paksh toh sabhi rakhte hain
Par apna paksh taye hone se pehle toh kuch nahi koi karte hain.
Yeh bholi hain Janta yeh murkh bhi
Jin ke haath main inhe saumpa woh chatur bhi aur makkar bhi
Bashan de de ke uksana hain zaroor
Jab haath se mamla nikal jaye toh aman banaye rakhne ki arzi bhi kar diya karo huzoor!

Twisted Sense of Manhood
What ever I wear is my choice
Who are you? It's I who decide
Whether I wear a dress or a skirt
That doesn't give you the right to flirt
तूने हमे निवेदन दिया
पास आओ, यह इशारो में बोला
संस्कारी, यह वस्त्र न पहनें
पल्लू ओढे वो घर में रहे
How dare you try to harass
Slap! This is what you deserve in my hands
I am not the one backing down
I'll protect myself from your crippled mind
To beat and whip, you come with your clan?
To rape and kill, and you claim to be a man?
We are not commodities to be traded or bartered?
We are the ones that give birth to a retard with a twisted sense of manhood!

War and other things
He walks alone without a sigh, for without him they would die
He trains hard to fight, your battles and your plight.
He is trained to kill one who'd spill blood while sparring
He has a family who he loves and his heart softens
His sacrifices gives us our motherland so pure.
He stands across a line that was divided by the rulers of our nation
He recollects the stories when each one was brutally separated
He sheds a tear because they are no more brothers now
He hasn't seen the end of war for over a number of years
He is a son that belongs to both India and Pakistan, if we only forget the boundaries of their creation.
