Bhajan - Inspiration

Radhe bina shaam hai adha
Chanda bina raat hai gheri
Manjhi bina kaha kinara
Tere bina nahi yeh kahtaa

Sanjh ke bina chidi kaha
Ghar ko waapas tere aate
Kaajal bina aankh hai sooni
Mere bina kya tu hogi poori?

Sooraj bina din na hota
Bol bina yeh geet na rachta
Sparsh gar, mehsoos na hota
Prem ka ehsaas tumhe na hota

Madira bina maikhana na hota
Saaqi bina phir mehfil na hoti
Gehri yaha gar baaten na hoti
Meri kami mehsoos na hoti

Raah bina rahgir na hota
Kuda bina tu peer na hota
Jeevan main gar prem na hua
Bichdan ka dard phir kaise saha

Aahatein - Agnee

Aahatein, ho rahin teri
Dil ke dar pe mere
Tu yahin hai kahin

Kabhi mere khwab sa
Kabhi uljhe jawaab sa
Ke chanda mein bhi daag sa
Mere jaisa tu

Ke dariya ka ho ik sira
Ke armaano ka silsila
Ke sehra mein bhi aab sa
Mere jaisa tu, mere jaisa tu

Listen to this version, here and thank me later.

Make sure you listen to the flute that comes in in the later half of the song.

Again, do I really have to delve into the beautiful lyrics of this song?
I mean isn't it self explanatory already?

This one I'll let it sit here only coz it's so beautiful and I am currently listening to it on loop and loving the flute.

Until next song.

Saawali Si Raat

Barfi ke tukde sa, chanda dekho aadha hai
Dheere dheere chakhna zara
Hansne rulane ka aadha-pauna vaada hai
Kankhi se takna zara

Ye jo lamhe hain lamhon ki behti nadi mein
Haan bheeg loon, haan bheeg loon
Ye jo aankhen hain aankhon ki gumsum zubaan ko
Main seekh loon, haan seekh loon

Ankahee si guftagu, ansuni si justajoo
Bin kahe, bin sune, apni baat ho gayi
* Sawali Si Raat

I hate the texture Arijit Singh uses for his voice in this song, inspite of being on my playlist I've never really paid real attention to the lyrics until someone pointed them out to me and I just can't get them out of my head and if I can't get a lyrics out of my head, I've got to write about it.

There is so much happiness and nostalgia in the song, I can't just help but marvel at the wonderful similes used to describe a multitude of emotions.
Chand, barfi ban gaya kyun ki movie ka naam Barfi hai and jaise tukde tukde ko savour kar ke main Barfi kaaju ki khaata hoo, chand ko bhi rooj tukde tukde dekh, kush hote hai na?

He then beautifully describes 'moments' as a stream and how it's always flowing - how many of us try and stop to savour the sound of a flowing stream, rustling leaves, dripping pans out in the open when it's pouring heavily, the sound of thunder and then moving on to decipher emotions like a magician learning the codes of his new trick or a thief sensing the clicks of the safe and de-coding it's language.

Just like that, I've learned the language of eyes that hide behind a layer of Kajal. There is so much one can convey but hiding it all behind a plethora of emotions yet everytime, every single time, eyes give them away and that completes our conversation.

Not a word uttered, not a moment wasted. They've said what they had to and I've understood what I needed to. Beauty of the language of happiness and love.

Oh this song has developed a whole new meaning for me now. Beautiful!

Expression of Thoughts - 2

Dead Poets Society - Inspired

Conforming to the tenets of society
We merge into society
Viewing the world at eye level
Vision impaired - in a crowd we settle.

Barricades around us, choking on the old
Living on, this is life - we've been told.
Step up, on a desk, may be - your vision transforms
Perspective change, shattering our myopic conforms.

Not a part of the whole - we've now broken off
On the fringe now, at every step we'll be asked to halt.
Mad men we are not, we view life different
Ceased to now follow, learning always - I am a student.

Yawp now, yawp like a mad man - gibberish
Write now, simple and plain - yet distinct
Break now, break free of your shackles - feel estacy
Live now, live on terms set by you - remain idiosyncratic!

Carpe diem!
O Captain! My Captain!
